Alex Jeffreys invited a special guest speaker, Maria Andros – Video Marketing Queen, to our coaching program. YouTube and videos were the topic for the session. I’m going to share with you what I learned and acted upon in this post.
Briefly, why YouTube? Simply, because it is effortless for people to participate and it is easy to watch a video from halfway across the world. YouTube allows access to almost any kind of video imaginable.
From a business point of view you can dominate your niche. With YouTube you can leverage your time with 2 minute videos, it has huge viral potential and it’s free.
Positioning: You can use YouTube to position yourself with long tailed keywords.
- Look for keywords with less than 500,000 competing websites
- Search for keywords that aren’t as competitive
- Create a captivating title
- Repeat your keywords in the title, description and tags.
- Fill up you entire description with content, keywords and put in your URL
As Alex Jeffreys has stated during the coaching program, “You can get so much wrong … but if you have the correct people around you can get so much right.” Remember, everyone has a compelling story to tell! So, what’s in the video? Maria’s 7 steps video formula tells it all!
Maria Andros – Secret 7 tips
- The Welcome: Everyone likes to be welcomed. Smile and be authentic, even if you’re not in front of the camera. People instantly form a first impression. Tip: Pretend you’re talking to your best friend.
- Personal Background Story: Share your story; build a background so your viewer can relate to you.
- Credibility: Tell your successes by outlining your achievements.
- Your Irresistible offer: If it’s a free product, free e-book or what you’re going to teach them at your website or blog.
- Paint the Problem: Find out what frustrates your viewers and emphasize the problem.
- Provide a Solution: Teach your viewers something.
- Call to Action: Invite your viewer to take action. For example: “Post a comment, share the video, subscribe to my YouTube channel, subscribe and visit my blog at www.julienewman.net.”
So, here is my first video, tell me what you’re thinking!
Learning online marketing with you,

Thanks Rob – I’m going to try Maria’s advise and drop down to 2 minutes on the next video.
I went to Bing and noticed you can search for short videos ( < 5 min )

Hi Julie:
Your video is fantastic, and so is your blog. It’s dripping and inspiring creativity everywhere you look.
You have a very unusual recipe of personality and being different that makes me (and probably other visitors) want to engage.
It’s so refreshing and encouraging to see that because more often than not we’re sucked into thinking we have to conform to what most of the other blogs are doing and look like – after all it’s working for them so it has for us, too, right…
And this video with the music, the images, the content, and your voice really make this difference fulfilling and credible.
Look forward to coming back – your rss feed will be on my iGoogle page.
Cheers,
Thomas
